BOSUN 56m S/Y
A 56m S/Y is looking for a Bosun to join them in either Fiji or NZ between September and October.
Managerial and leadership skills are required as the Bosun will be managing a team of day workers and less experienced deck crew. A thorough knowledge of deck maintenance products is essential along with a rounded knowledge in sailing, seamanship, and deck practices. The bosun will be responsible for carrying out and overseeing planned and preventative maintenance on all deck hardware and rigging. Prior experience with the administration of P&PM software IDEA would be a bonus but not a necessity. Experience in maintaining LSA and FFE equipment and administering a safety maintenance system to a high standard.
The Bosun should be well organised and thorough with managing spares inventories.
For the right person, this role offers plenty of room for advancement in that they will be working under two experienced first officers and a long-term crew. Further, the owner has a larger SY in build.
They have a well structure itinerary which is world cruising:
- September 2022: French Polynesia
- October 2022: Fiji
- November ’22 – Feb ’23: New Zealand cruising
- March ’23 – May ’23 Delivery Auckland Palma
- Summer ’23 Med Cruising
- Winter ’23 Delivery to Caribbean and cruising
- March ’24 Caribbean / Bucket regatta
